September,by far, has been my most productive month this year with regards to my blog.
Despite a touch of writers block, I didn’t want the week to end without giving you something.
I’m hoping to keep the momentum for the rest of the year as well.

Here’s a recap of my week through the lenses of some of my favourite things.

Reading list
I completed ‘the girl with the louding voice’, and honestly, it took way too much time to complete. The majority of the book was written in broken English because that was what the main character spoke. Honestly,  this took me quite aback and slowed my reading a bit. It was a good read, and Adunni is truly an unforgettable and resilient character, rising above her circumstances and making use of the opportunities that came her way.

After reading ‘the girl with the louding voice’, I dived into into the non-fiction world – ‘Big Magic’ by Elizabeth Gilbert. It’s a book on creativity, in this case, writing. I’m not halfway through yet, but I like what I’m reading so far. It’s like having a conversation with an older and experienced friend about their creative journey and inspiration.

Music
I rediscovered New York City girl by Fireboy DML, and I’ve been jamming to it. By jamming, I’m mostly referring to having a dance off in my room, where I groove as though  nobody’s watching – because no one is.

Activities
Dancing is my most easiest workout. I have no routine for it, and I do not need to think too hard to do it. I do it as and when my heart wants. It’s invigorating and helps me unwind at the end of the day.

I did some skipping this week (integrated this into my routine not long ago). Skipping is hard (tears).

Outfits
My favourite outfit this week was a 3/4th sleeve shirt that looked like it had been dipped in an autumn colour palette. I paired with a pair of jeans.

Snacks
I had plantain chips this week – both ripe and unripe, which is something I haven’t had in a while. It was a late night snack, fulfilling and still light enough. I’ve always preferred the unripe ones – they were usually crispier and visually pleasing as compared to its counterpart, but in recent years, I’m beginning to appreciate the sweetness of the ripe one.
I’d rate it a 4/5.

I did have bananas, too, which were not thoroughly ripe because I told the vendor I wasn’t going to eat them soon. They were quite green and firm (which is how I enjoy my bananas) but didn’t taste ripe enough. I’m rating this a 2/5.

All in all, this week was a breath of fresh air, giving me space to breathe, relax, and enjoy the small things.
How was your week?
