My first time seeing a dump for a month was last year on twitter. The whole idea is to post photos or videos that summarizes the month. It did look like a cool trend but it was too much pressure for someone who doesn’t really have fancy photos doing ‘fancy’ things. However, others posted very simple photos of the books they read. I’ve curated mine into a post. This is a painfully summarized version of how March went for me.

  • Books
I read two books in March- Braving the Wilderness by Brené Brown and Atomic habits by James Clear.
I might have to explain my slight obsession with Brené Brown someday
  • Health
With regards to my health, I started something that hopefully is going to yield positive results in the long run. “I believe that the greatest gift that you can give your family and the world is a healthy you.” – Joyce Meyer
  • Treats
Last year, I made a list of foods/desserts/snacks that I wanted to try. I tried one of such items in March. Waffles. Yes! I should probably be embarrassed I’m now trying waffles (I’m laughing real hard at this) but I’m not. It was crunchy on the outside and soft and sweet(not too sweet) on the inside. It’s the little things. A win is a win.
  • Friendship/Reconnection
I reconnected with an old friend and it felt good. We met during pre-shs classes in 2015 and it was good seeing her doing well. I’m going to see where it leads us.
  • Publication
My essay ‘Nostalgia isn’t what it used to be’ has finally been accepted by a magazine. It’s due for publication on 11th April, 2023. It felt good initially and then I just became nervous and started doubting my work. Obviously, I can do much better than that (I’m still a work in progress) but I’ve also been thinking that I should have probably just kept it in my archives.
This creative non-fiction piece is centered on a memory from my childhood. It’s supposed to be sweet and heartwarming as there are no serious themes.
  • Social event
I went for a social event in March – Waakyefest. I’m so glad I did this. I met two wonderful people at that event and oh I tried a mocktail for the first time(I’m laughing once again). There’s a first time for everything.
  • Google forms for blog
A friend helped me create a google form for my blog (sappleh.wordpress.com)to assess how well it was doing and improve experience of the readers. The goal is to be consistent -a Wednesday and Saturday post weekly. So far, I’m not doing a pretty good job of it.

I started writing this post believing that I wasn’t going to have much to share and yet here I am. How was the month of March for you? What did you read? What did you learn? What did you do? Do share a summary of your month in the comments.

Don’t be embarrassed. Some of us haven’t tried waffles yet
